Interest in the Confederacy isn't about hate or support of slavery or racism -- even the Confederacy didn't support these issues in the way that is often thought. This site is to show support of the study of the Confederacy and the complex issues that brought about what is now known as the American Civil War.

Despite living in the South, I, as many, was raised and taught the version of the war that claims it was fought completely over slavery and that the North wanted to free all slaves whereas the Southern slaveholders were bound and determined to keep African-American's enslaved. As I learned more about our nation's history, reading biographies and historical documents, I began to realize how very twisted that account is.
